HOW TO BECOME A CHRISTIAN

ICHR2045

We are so glad that you took the time to visit this part of our web site. But please understand that you didn’t come here by accident. Jesus loves you, and He is inviting you to come to Him for forgiveness and eternal life.

People today tend to determine who is good and who is not by what they do. But God says that none of us has ever been able to live a good enough life to get into heaven. All of us have sinned, and even the smallest sin is enough to separate us from God

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans  3:23 NASB)

Well, maybe you figured that you're just not good enough to come to God. You think that you need to get your life turned around and become a better person before God will have anything to do with you. But God made a way for you to come to Him even before you knew He existed.

But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.               (Romans 5:8)

God doesn’t care what kind of person you are. He wants you to come to Him just the way you are because He loves you.

He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy...   (Titus 3:5 NASB)

You see, God invites you to come to Him because He is gracious, not because you are a good person. All of your efforts to clean up your life are wasted. You can’t work your way into heaven. There is no way for you to earn heaven. The fact is, it’s a free gift.

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works... (Ephesians 2:8-9 NASB)

Now, just because God is gracious doesn’t mean that He ignores your sin. He is also just. And because He is just, your sins must be punished before you can come to Him. But instead of making you bear the punishment yourself, He gave you the gift of His Son to bear the punishment for you.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.                                    (Romans 6:23 NASB)

Jesus bore the punishment for your sins so that you don’t have to. He died a terrible death on a cross as payment if full for your sin debt. But Jesus didn't stay in the grave. God brought Him back to life as proof that He’ll do the same for you.

He has opened the door to heaven for you. All you have to do right now is reach out and accept the free gift of salvation that God is offering you by bringing you to this site.

If you confess with you mouth Jesus as Lord, and you believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation   (Romans 10:9-10 NASB)

All you need to do is accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Then, believe with all your heart that He paid the penalty for your sins and that God raised Him from the dead and that He is in heaven right now preparing a place for you. If you will do that, then you will be with Him in glory throughout eternity.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.                                                                  (John 3:16 NASB)

Are you ready to accept the free gift of eternal life that Jesus is offering you right now? If you are, then you need to bow your head right this minute and ask Jesus to come into your heart. Not tomorrow. Right now. The exact words aren’t important. Just tell Him that you recognize the fact that you’re a sinner, and that you can’t possibly be good enough on your own to get into heaven. Then believe with all your heart that Jesus paid the penalty for your sin, and that He is alive right now in heaven preparing a place for you. Then place your trust in Him for your salvation and your life, and agree to be obedient to His Word from now on.

Did you pray the sinner’s prayer right then? If you did, we’d like to help you get started in your new life in Christ. Write to us or click the icon below to send us an E-mail with any questions or concerns you may have.
